The transfers and appointment of state officials are currently unfair and plagued with nepotism, said most of government officials and state enterprise employees in an opinion survey by National Institute for Development Administration or Nida Poll. The poll was carried out on Sept 20-21 on 1,250 government officials and state enterprise employees throughout the country to compile their opinion on what they think are factors involved in their transfers and appointments. To the question about fairness, most of the respondents, 50.96, said the current transfers and appointments are not fair; 44.56% said they are generally fair; and, 4.48% no answers. Asked whether nopotism is involved, a majority or 52.28% said "yes"; 44.56% said "no"; and 4.16% no answers. Asked whether they think the transfers and appointments are based on exchanges of interests, most of the respondents or 61.92% said "no"; 23.24% "yes"; and, 9.84% no comments.
